๐ Understanding BMI
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a numerical value derived from your height and weight. It helps assess whether you're underweight, at a healthy weight, overweight, or obese.
Formula: BMI = weight (kg) / [height (m)]²
For example, if you're 170 cm tall and weigh 65 kg, your BMI is calculated as:
65 / (1.7 × 1.7) = 22.5
๐ BMI Categories (WHO Standard):
- Under 18.5 → Underweight
- 18.5 – 24.9 → Normal
- 25.0 – 29.9 → Overweight
- 30.0 and above → Obese
While BMI is a useful health indicator, it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution. For a full health analysis, consult a medical professional.
